2. Provision of this website
This website is provided through Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you access the website, technically necessary connection data is processed. This may include your IP address, access time, requested address, referrer, browser and operating system.
Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure, reliable and error-free provision of this website. Vercel may also process data in the United States and provides appropriate safeguards for necessary transfers from the European Economic Area, in particular EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
We do not use this connection data to create advertising profiles. It is deleted or anonymised when no longer required for operation, security and error analysis and when no statutory obligations require continued storage.
3. Apartment enquiry form
The enquiry form processes your name, at least one way of contacting you by email or phone, the number of occupants, your preferred start date, your apartment preference and an optional message. We use these details to respond to your enquiry, identify a suitable apartment and take steps before entering into a contract.
Processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Where an enquiry is not directly aimed at entering into a contract, processing is also based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR and our legitimate interest in handling accommodation enquiries. We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
The form does not create a separate permanent customer database. Your enquiry is sent to our email inbox. Recipients are the people responsible for handling your enquiry and our technical hosting and email service providers. We delete completed enquiries that do not lead to a contract no later than twelve months after final processing, unless statutory obligations or legitimate interests require longer storage. Contract and booking records are retained for the applicable statutory periods.
4. Email delivery
We use services provided by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany, to deliver and process emails. Form data is transmitted to our mailbox hosted there. Emails are generally not end-to-end encrypted.
Processing takes place for pre-contractual or contractual communication under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR and otherwise on the basis of our legitimate interest in reliable communication under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
5. Protection against spam and misuse
We briefly process technical verification data to protect the form. This includes a signed, time-limited form key, an invisible control field, a short-lived duplicate-submission block and input size limits. Form content is not written to security logs.
Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is protecting the form and our systems against automated bulk submissions and misuse.
6. Contact by email or phone
If you contact us by email or phone, we process your information to respond to your request. Depending on the content, processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Statutory retention obligations remain unaffected.
7. Contact through WhatsApp
WhatsApp is not embedded in this website. Only when you select the clearly marked link do you leave our website and open the service on your own initiative. The destination address and other connection data may then be transmitted to WhatsApp. Subsequent communication is also subject to the WhatsApp privacy information. You can contact us without WhatsApp by form, email or phone.
8. Route check and Google Maps
The optional route check opens Google Maps only after you deliberately select a mode of travel. Until that click, the destination you enter stays in your browser and is neither sent to our servers nor stored by us. When you open the route, its start, destination and mode of travel are sent directly to Google Maps. Google processes this data under its own responsibility; the Google Privacy Policy applies. The website and enquiry form can be used without the route check.
9. Language selection
When you first open the homepage, your browser language preference is used to choose between German and English. If you change the language manually, we store your selection for up to twelve months in the technically necessary cookie sh_dortmund_locale. The cookie contains only de or en and is not used for advertising or audience measurement.
Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is a consistent language experience. You can delete the cookie at any time through your browser settings.
10. Analytics, tracking and external content
We do not use analytics or tracking services, advertising profiles, externally embedded maps or videos, or newsletter tracking. External services are opened only through clearly marked links after you deliberately select them.
11. Your rights
Subject to the statutory conditions, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for reasons arising from your particular situation.
Under Article 77 GDPR, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in your habitual residence, your place of work or the place of the alleged infringement.
